What Should You Wear?
Regular sports clothing is fine.
Choose something comfortable that allows you to move freely.
Court shoes are preferable because pickleball involves quick lateral movements, stops and changes of direction.
You don't need a special pickleball outfit.
Although we won't stop you from buying one.
Do You Need Your Own Paddle?
Not necessarily.
Many clubs and beginner sessions have paddles available to borrow.

Once you start playing regularly, getting your own paddle is worthwhile.
You'll become familiar with its grip, weight, balance and response.
What Ball Is Used?
Pickleball uses a lightweight plastic ball with holes.
There are different balls designed for indoor and outdoor conditions, so don't be surprised if the ball at your local club looks slightly different from one you've seen online.

You don't need to memorise the entire rulebook.
For your first game, understand:
